Good afternoon before the early evening to one of this is the Andy as a tip and Wylita. We are bringing to you live from River West Radio on the perfectly dusty street of center. Mother's musical diaries with the Andy and Wyalita. Now the hot new phone line. Call or text the show at 414-812-1730. That's 414-812-1730. 1730, a great year for the giant Chinese Dobson fly. With the Dobson fly who holds the Guinness book. I didn't even know that was still a thing. But okay, the giant Chinese Dobson fly holds the Guinness book. World records for being the largest aquatic insect with a wingspan of eight and a half inches. Hey, hey, hey, you know, back before a lot of things like television, not to mention the wheel. Yeah, not to mention the wheel, Wileita, and even probably cooking uh insects on our blessed planet Earth, and it is blessed, mother lovers. We ought to be more reverent. We ought to be more reverent. Uh, but anyway, uh, back before blue jeans and what have you, when large reptiles rule the planet, insects could get really big, like they might have a hard time fitting through your 24-inch window. And that's because there was way more oxygen in the atmosphere. And insects will grow relative to the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere. Those are facts, and more facts later in the show, but first, a diary entry from Mother, then at some point we'll play a song from our musical archives. And finally, we end each show with Mother breathing closely, and then entering my room to impart wisdom that offers a good deep sleep. And that's the way we like to start the show, and that's the way we like to end the show, and so we begin with the words of Mother. Very intriguing. I took a belly dancing class at the Recreation Center. It was really good.
SPEAKER_12The key is to feel and express the music in your middle, and then more or less remain calm everyone everywhere else. It's pretty hard to be honest. But if you want to do something and you like it, anything is possible. I practiced at home and tried to get the boys to try it, and they seemed uninterested at best. Larry crossed his arms and said I looked like a snake.
SPEAKER_03And Andy just wanted a sandwich. He did, however, humor me a little bit by asking for a belly ownie sandwich. I tried to bring culture to my family, and all I get is guff. Oh well. I tried. Mother, mother, I'm sorry you f you felt like your attempts to make the family more worldly were rebuffed by me and Larry the dodo. He's such a dodo brain. And uh, I tell you what, how about we play a great album from your LP collection that I remember? I remember oh so fondly, mother. And I I have to admit that the whole belly dancing thing weirded me out. But the records you brought home at the time, I mean, those were amazing.
Velotissimo, enfanissimo, que beru casados beatles, que beru casados beatles, que beru casados beatles. Beatles, Beatles, Beatles, Beatles, Beatles, Beatles.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, boy, oh boy, I'll tell you what, that's a killer album. And I thought it was by Anna Teferiki, but uh I gotta uh Wyalita was just barking in my ear. I appreciate that information. Uh Wyalita was telling me that that that album from Mother, that's a a compilation. And I just wonder why it says it's by Anna Teferi Teferiki. We gotta get uh her research and development on that one. And we'll get back to you. For a proper spelling of Teferi and uh song title, you gotta go to our podcast found on any of your favorite podcasts, Thingabot Jobs! Like Apple Podcasts for Spotify and search for mother's musical diaries with Andy and Yelita, you'll find every song from just about every show. And you can also go to our website by typing one letter at a time until you get to that podcast.andypositive.com. Uh boy, oh boy, we were all dancing in the studio to that last song, and I almost got sick, it's so hot in here. Uh oh, looks like we have a call there, Wileita! Just like last week, the phone lines are just lighting, just lighting up like our backyard on a June night. Meaning that our yard is jacked full of lightning bugs. Or fireflies, depending where you live. Like water fountain or bubbler. Tater tots and tater toots. Okay, let's pass that through. Okay, Carl, you're first in line, so uh go ahead and uh just tell me, tell me what you're thinking. Yeah, right, yeah, well, welcome back, mate. Welcome back! Oh, at least I know no not again. Not again, oh boy, I I mean I do sort of like this song. Yeah, that do okay, David Byron, lead singer of your Raya Heepo, uh what what what the heck can we do for you? Like I said, yeah?
SPEAKER_12Welcome back, mate. Yeah. Yeah, I just wanted to say that uh a while back, yeah? You listed all you you listed on your show, you you one by one, you listed all them English bands that made it in the US, didn't ya?
SPEAKER_03Uh yes I did, David. Yes I did.
SPEAKER_12Uh yeah, but you y you never mentioned ape, did ya?
SPEAKER_03You didn't mention ape. Uh you taken the mick, yeah? Uh point take point taking, David Byron. I neglected to mention your eye heap in the same breath as Led Zeppelin, the Stones, the Beatles, uh the Who, Black Sabbath, and so on. Oh, I'm very I'm very sorry. It's very sorry, Sir Sir David. Yeah, one way to make a butt, isn't it? I suppose, yes, Wylita. Can we appease Sir David Byron? Okay, David, I guess you're in luck. Yeah, Wylita, we can't. Oh, okay, let's let's appease Sir David. Uh stay tuned, David, and we'll we'll we'll retie the once tight bond of our deep, deep friendship. Yeah, that'll do, yeah. Cheers. Like I said, yeah, welcome back, Andy.
SPEAKER_12Uh, you know, uh I d I I done a stint at bridges, yeah? Yeah, did a stint m myself, yeah? Not bad biscuits, Dad. Uh could use the larger room now that I think about it.
SPEAKER_03Uh David, uh bye, David. Uh good good to hear from you. And uh Yeah, why lead you around you hang up that phone? Yeah, okay, that's okay. And okay, uh yeah, uh you yeah, why can you do that? Can you put that record on? Yeah. Yeah, let's do that. Let's yeah, let's yeah, I know. I I was kidding about the whole Taiwan thing with David. I don't know if you can hear my voice. But uh, I'm I'm just so pleased with Jeremy Prack, with the Jeremy Prack reconciliation. So let's just keep the good vibes going and play some heap for David Byron. And for you, those of you who don't know, David Byron was the lead singer of your eye heap.
SPEAKER_08As I wake up every day with no new songs to play, feel like I ought to pack my bag and die My imagination dies into some other sunny skies where I felt so good and everything was done. And my time was my own And my heart felt so free. Come on, I don't mind the middle brain, but it touched it, too. When the top beauty bugs it, I know it touched it, to the day when nobody will be able to do it. I'm no stranger, I'm a friend, and but they will never breathe. Till the world will be free.
SPEAKER_03Are you trying to say something in particular to me? You could have played any old heap song and you you play I Wanna Be Free? Okay, well I love you too. I'm just I I guess I'm just too sensitive. And you know, you know, David, I gotta admit it. David sounded pretty good, didn't he? Yeah, he was a he was a he was a talented vocalist. And again, you can't imagine heap alongside Sabbath or the stones. But they did produce some good stuff and a combination of that apparatus singing and the and all the metal metal guitar rips could really they could really hit the hit a person in the right spot at the right time. Tip of the head to you, David Byron, okay now. What the show, and I I really want to get I really Yeah Yeah, why the Okay, yeah, I'm gonna press that. Yeah, I want to tell them other lovers about the ant I found in my grape grape nuts legs. And I I accident I accidentally poured him into a bowl of milk, and he just started screaming like, oh get out, and I could see the milk just vibrating across the surface, and I thought, what the heck? And looks like we have another call. Good clamber, the board is really flaming up. Just like last week, I'm just gonna go ahead and press that in. Mother Lover, what do you got for me there?
SPEAKER_06Hey, Andy, hey! Welcome back! Hey, welcome back, Andy!
SPEAKER_03Okay, and here we go again, I guess. Hey, I'm so happy you're back for bitches of recovery!
SPEAKER_06Hey, bubbly news! I also heard you took a little trip to China!
SPEAKER_03Why didn't you tell the mother lovers about that, Andy? Jimmy, I didn't have time I didn't have time to tell the mother's lovers past me back.
SPEAKER_06Well, as your political correspondent, I would like to inform you that GO political relations are a little dicey at the moment, Andy! You ought to check in with me before you go tripsing around Mohan, China. I know people! I could get you the best deals on all sorts of things, all acupuncture related and otherwise, Andy.
SPEAKER_03I did get acupuncture, Jimmy, for a really fair price.
SPEAKER_06I know, but I could have gotten you the primo needles in your forehead and what have you, and it would have really helped, Andy.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, it helped quite a bit, as it was, Jimmy Diamond. Much better than Bridges, uh Bridges the Recovery, I can tell you that much. Yeah, I know, but it's true, it's true. Real acupuncture unlocked a momentary love for all people, including Jeremy Prack, uh, who poisoned our public waters and totally screwed up cosmic time with his perverse reversal of May 1st and May 3rd, but but really all is forgiven, Jeremy.
SPEAKER_06Andy, I got a golden story about a about a public water that used to be poisoned, but got a major makeover by the head cheese! No, even the Pope, even the Pope wants to come and splash around and get blessed in it. That's what he said.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I think I'm gonna I think I'm actually gonna pass on that one there. Uh yeah. Jimmy Damon hang up on Jimmy Diamond, can you please? Yes, okay. I I I I honestly I I honestly can't tell if he's serious. I really can't. I no one can be that dumb. But uh but I don't know, I really I really don't. Yeah, yeah, WXRW's technical director! And uh quality control specialist just said that Jimmy is a real stinker. Ha ha ha! That's so true! Go ahead, Waylita. Yeah, I want you if you could just play something from from that one album, yeah, that one Why Waylita, the unsung hero of the show, Waylita, go ahead and take a bow before you play that record. Yeah, now we want to play this one. I'm not sure exactly why, it just kind of struck a chord. Let's see how this sounds on live radio. That was a real steamy song, Wilita. Was was that one for me? Oh, I thought so. I thought thank you, Wylita. Hold me tight by the by the by the King Khan and BBQ show. That's a that's a duo out of Canada. And another great expert from our friends to the north, our great, great friends to the north. And uh, thanks for making music, you two drummer also plays the guitar and sings simultaneously. And that's why the beat is so simple and driving. He's just slamming that bass drum. And then the other foot is playing a skeardrum. Cool stuff if you're into that sort of thing. And we are! Yeah, you know, Wyalita, we we we we stayed at King Khan's compound in Haakken, Germany! Do you remember that? Do you remember that? Do you remember that, Wileita? Do you? Yeah, it's true we did. Okay, yeah, yeah, uh, we've had enough welcome back and while we and what have you. We need to return to our regular, regularly scheduled programming, which includes like copyrighted features as Mother's Countdown to find best job! Here cometh the carbon counting comment, mothers recipe cornered, news from beyond Faced Alex Sunday, a brief from the underground, and so so so so much more, which leads me to Looks like We have another waiting. We have eleven calls waiting, Wait a yeah. I mean, what's that way to me? I should take the call. Okay, you're right. Okay, let's go ahead and take that call. Okay, mother lover, what do you got? You gotta we have eleven calls waiting, so you gotta you gotta you have to keep this quick.
SPEAKER_05Welcome back, friend, welcome back. I heard you talk about champion block and on the motherly poisoned schedules he's screwed up. And I can't believe what I've heard.
unknownWelcome.
SPEAKER_05You forget that burning red! You forgot that burning rod!
SPEAKER_03Easy big fellow, easy! The way your voice sounds absolutely incredible!
SPEAKER_05But the I just cracked from money. I never forgot about apology. I need no apology! I need no apology! No, no, no, no, no. That's what I'm gonna do and poison my mother and make you drive. Oh no, please! And walk upon the staff excuse of a part for nothing! That's what I'm gonna do!
SPEAKER_03No, no, Andy, no, no, no, listen. It's all good, it's all good, it's all good. Oh, holy clever, he gets worked up. Mad Dog, come on, if you're still listening, please, please, please. I mean, I mean this all is forgiven. Put down your sandpaper and draw yourself a warm bath. And just relax, eepers. Waylita, can you play something nice for Mad Dog? Something that'll really just kind of, I don't know, ease up his blood vessels and kind of thin the blood. You got something? Let's try that. That was the great Indian songsmith Charinge It Singh from the album Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat. And that's another one of Mother's LPs. Boy, she has a great collection, I tell ya. It has a double LP, and it just gets into your blood from start to finish. You heard it here in Mother's Musical Diaries with Andy and Wileita, WXRW Riverwest Radio 104.1 FM. All vinyl all the time. Unless unless we say otherwise, and it is it always live and in the moment with no over-rubs or double-dos. No over rubs or double-dos! And uh yeah, and and we mean that too, and uh we take that very seriously. Uh yes we do, Wylita. Uh, but first, let's before we get on with the show, we should probably let's read some texts. Text time! A new copyrighted feature, uh, mother's musical diaries with Andy, Wilita. What time is it? Ha ha! Text time! Yes. Okay, so first we have from Kuala Lampur from Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, Todd Writes. Okay, hey, big boy, arf, arf, arf. Uh, big ups from the peninsula. Okay, okay, whatever that whatever that means. Todd Todd goes on to write, which is Todd goes on to write, which I gotta say is which is being generous. Okay, hey, big boy, arf, arf, arf, big ups from the peninsula. Just wanted you to know, and Todd spelled no and oh. Uh just wanted you to know that we 13 hours ahead, so have to woke up at 5 a.m. for listen. Okay, thanks a lot, Todd. Uh I guess that's just how people text these days. But I appreciate the shout-out from uh Malaysia. Uh thanks for listening to the show. Okay, we got another. This one from Schomberg, Illinois. Hello, neighbor to the south. Let's see. From hashtag Fondue Philly. Okay. Hello from down under. Okay, well, you're yourself. Uh, hashtag found fonduephilly, but I wouldn't go so far as to say down under. But okay, let's see. This one is really long. Apparently, Chicago must steal all the attention from the great suburb of Schaumburg. Okay, huh? Hashtag Fondue Philly continues. Okay, uh noticed you're playing a disproportionate amount of international music. Is your radio station located in an immigrant neighborhood? And does management get upset when you play rock and roll? Okay, hashtag found to found do filly, have a seat. Have a seat, big fella. We play whatever the heck we want on this show, and all the music comes from me and Wilita's in Mother's LP collection. And an occasional sunny CD in a rare YouTube lift or something like that. But so generally, if we want to play something that is, is not in our collections, then we have to buy it, which keeps us in a poorhouse. But uh, yeah, whatever we want to do, we do it. Uh there are no rules except that Larry can go suck an egg and his beef is probably rotten with toe flies and foot and mouth disease. Ha ha ha! Okay, yeah, go ahead and hit that, Wilita. We're gonna switch that up. Yeah, but you'd be hard pressed to find a radio show that has played the Temple City Kazoo Orchestra, and their rendition of the Stones has missed you. Uh, tell you what, hashtag Fondue Philly. You name and prove a show that has played that song, not as a novelty, but as an actual feature of the program, which, by the way, that song was the feature of our new feature, Cacophony a la catrosets. Uh, more on that in a second. So if you can name and prove a show that has played that song not as a novelty, but as an actual feature of the program, I will send you a watermelon popsicle in the mail. Uh now, more on cacophony a la catrosets! A new feature on Mother's musical diaries with a handy hand Wylita! Mr. Catrosets left a bundle of records with one of his mentees, who happens to be a distant neighbor down the street, Wylita. And then that neighbor has no room or time for LPs, apparently, so he gifted them to me. And you might ask yourself, who is Mr. Katrosets? Uh well, he was a communist and a painter and a teacher of the highest order. And he also happens to have excellent taste in music. So every now and then we'll hear from Cacophonyala Catrosis, which is exactly where the Temple City Kazoo Orchestra came from. And look oh so okay, so let's track this from Mr. Catrosis to his Minty, to me, and finally to you, Mother Lovers, track indeed! And now let's get on the high speed tracks of Yes, that's right! And why not I? Each show, I'll read a short passage from my unpublished memoir titled The Diary of Foundos of me, which will be illustrated by Wilita! And each show will get a little deeper into the story. Last week Andy was really unimpressed with Lewin's new look that consisted of a large leather cowboy hat, sunglasses, and high-top sneakers. And it's probably really cool for most people, but Lewin Lewin is a different story, and so let's hear more from The Diary of Foundos and me.
SPEAKER_12August 5.
SPEAKER_03Father Ted came over and told me a story about his family from Pittsburgh. Apparently, his mom and dad had 12 kids, and five of them went into the cloth, meaning they became priests. One even set up shop in Africa. His name was Richard, and his hair was long and puffy and brown. Father Ted showed me a picture. He also showed me a picture of his mom, who looked like she'd been ironed. Aunt Carrie made me a panic cook that I pretended to eat. Isaac Red Holt on the drums, and we played a great song from one of his solo albums last year, Ray Mother Lovers. Ha ha dear Amy, I suppose you don't remember that, but I sure do. And uh, we're gonna play more Isaac Holt in the coming moons. If you can c you can really you can count your clabers on that one. Just count your clabers on that one. And oh lordy while later, we have we just have so many copyrighted features to get to. And all we've heard is uh so far is the diary of Faunos and me, and I guess that new one caca cacophony of a la catrol sets and what the heck, and now you're telling me we have to take another call! What? What? This guy's been on hold for 34 minutes? Okay, yeah, boy, that is that is a long time. Okay, caller, what do you got? We again like just like we gotta keep it short because we're running away.
SPEAKER_02Welcome back welcome back, Andy! Welcome back! Welcome back, Andy! Schmidschmid. Yeah, this yeah, this is Schmidt Schmid. What uh I am hearing you correctly, sir. You were in China?
SPEAKER_03Yes, she Schmidt Schmidt. I was in China I mean, I was in China, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Would by for you dare this is for the business or the the pleasure?
SPEAKER_03I I assume you've been listening to the show, Schmidt Schmidt. If you've been listening to the show, uh or or w what what do you got?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've been I listened.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so then you you know that I was I was there for the healing needles. Uh Jeremy Prack left me in a terrible, terrible spot. With all his river pluton and schedule vandalism.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's just good. That's just good. And then having having having you used uh Z toilet China? Shmid Schmid. We can't hide from nature. Uh I am understanding that uh Z China toilet is is uh is hole in the it it's hole in the floor, yeah. Schmid ya it's very interesting than I thinking about the toilet hole. Um for you having BM in the hole. Please would you five five five are you not playing Spinnen? Like like you were saying every weekend you said I play Spinnen every week. I pretty sure you said you're saying that.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah, good good change, Schmidt. Thank you. I I hear you. Wait, wait, Lena, maybe you can queue up some Spinin.
SPEAKER_02I have to go down here.
SPEAKER_03I'm just kidding, uh Schmid I'm just kidding, Schmidt. But you could you could I think you could really use some kraut. Seriously. You you need to get your guts in order, sir. And you you can't keep clogging them up with sausage and strudel. Uh, do you mind? And I just apologize to Spinnin and all the listeners. I did say I was gonna play every song from that album, uh, a one song each week, and I think I'm not sure what happened. I just kinda lost track, but uh maybe we're back on track. And we probably have I don't know, maybe three or four more tracks to go on that album. But uh, it's all so good. And I I gotta I gotta apologize to Spinnin. Okay, and uh Yeah, Welly Yeah, I think we should uh musically we ought to end on a on a real uh pick me up that feels really good. Yeah, yeah. Wait, yeah. Okay, we should oh alright, I'll take I'm gonna take that last call then. And then we'll play that song. Okay, yeah, let's do that. Uh one last call today, uh Mother Lovers, and then we we seriously gotta get the a feel good song. Okay, what do you got, mother lovers? Welcome back. Sorry, McKegney. No, no welcome back song for you. Why why Link is busy at the busy at the at the turn table? Really sorry.
SPEAKER_12Me and the boys were just enjoying the show and fellow. He really doesn't need to take care of his attestants. Maddie, she makes me a biscuit smoothie each and every morning, and he cleans me, cleans me right out.
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep, yep. Sage advice, sage advice, McKegney. Yeah, why don't you hang up on him? Uh while he's uh But it is I have to say it is always good to hear from McKegney, even though I mean I uh my my I listen yeah uh mixed feelings is is is is an understatement. Um maybe I'll tell you more about Officer McKegney in the Fifth Peace Precinct of in Nina, Wisconsin at a later date. But for right now, I think we really have to play some feel-good music, and while it has just queued up a song I think you're really gonna enjoy, and if you listen to the lyrics really closely, you can I think we can hear something really special and eh, maybe a little naughty. I'm not good, I'm not sure, I'm not good with lyrics.
SPEAKER_01Okay, honey, can we come along now? Guys, you feel the nice or very good. The bed and black and also food. Pull me closest and put out the light. I say to me just teach. Oh that is beach I say to me just No branch or whiskey can do it, right? No more blankets can keep me warm, so pull me close as I put out the light, and say to me just kiss Oh, yeah, no more time to pick Now that I am feeling fine, please tell me a glass of beer, give me a stick of cigarette, and then tell me sweet stories. Tell me that you love me, money, oh yeah, to me just a little bit. But drop me slowly while you start my head, and it's me, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Sleep well when you dream of me. What made you wake up what I give you much me just teach? Oh daddy, please, you might meet just each rogue with do me justice, and that's why Alita bought me that album when we were in the weeds.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, remember that, Wellita? Okay, yeah, now, you know, we're we're we're get we're getting back on track in so many different ways. We've just played spin-in after I said I was gonna play spin-in, and I didn't play spin-in, we got back to spin-in. And now we're getting back to just kink about it. Yes. Okay, every week we'll play a song from the outstanding album by the Kinks titled The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society, specifically the Airwax Triple album 2004 release. Now I'm not gonna play any of the repeats or duplicates on the album. Just a little heads up on that one, brother lovers. Uh but last, well, last week, probably two months ago, we played track two from side B of album one. So what's next? Just kink about it. Track three from side B of album one, Starstruck.
SPEAKER_10You don't know what you say because you're victim of right baby life. Your mind is not right. Your face, the world's at your feet.
SPEAKER_03Listen, I'm telling you what, that's the kinks, and I really have my that's from the Village Green Preservation Society album, like I said, the Earwax Triple album, 2004 released. And I I listen, Mother Lovers, this is this is this is some album, and I'm encouraging to go out and get it. And if I just I wanted to play a song from that album every week on the section called Just Kink About It, but I keep running out of time because it's all these dead, blasted, lovely callers are coming in. And uh, but I I have to say, I really believe that next week, next week we're gonna we gotta stop this whole welcome back thing. I've been here two weeks back from California, back from China or China, as uh as uh Schmidt Schmidt said, and uh we we gotta get back to the show and and uh it's not that I don't really really appreciate what we did the last two weeks, because I do, but uh we really have to get back to some of our features because I'm feeling a real emptiness in my stomach. And I don't mean the kind of emptiness in Schmidt's stomach when it gets all gurgling, he's gonna make a beeline to the toilet. That's not the kind of emptiness I'm talking about. It's something much deeper and much more disturbing when I don't get to do my copyrighted features, because that's really what drives me when I go to bed at night. I just most people, what do they do? They dream about their moms and their dads or whatever, the giant b- bumblebee each carrying a crab apple. But I dream about copyrighted features. And uh I don't know why they just come to me and they speak to me, and what I don't uh externalize them in my show. Like I said, I just get this big empty pit in my stomach. That if you can imagine a pit that's ten times worse than whatever Schmidt Schmidt's going I got going on. Oh, and by the way, he seems to enjoy that, but uh, I think I hear maybe I hear mother. Yes, mother. Andy, Andy, don't be fooled by the knee sayers, Andy. Life is a mosquito and a stone, a rope, and a phone. Oh, thank you, mother. I really I have to I can't tell you enough how much I love when you come into my bedroom at night and share that wisdom because I think about it every stinking day, and I do believe it is an enhanced my life. And also enhancing my life, I believe, is Jerry Hahn. And uh, yeah. Yes, there he is. Yes, this has been other musical diaries with Andy and Wylita, where ear time is the best time, and but you have to ask yourself, what did you hear today? And normally at the end of the end of my show, I give a little shout out to Mashwa, but I don't know. Mashwa packed up his bags and moved. I have no idea where the heck he's going, but there's some fella on the show that uh we gotta we gotta have a talk because uh he's stepping on my lawn and it looks like a nice fella, but he's stepping on my lawn, so I got cleats.
